BMW is preparing to launch its new, reinvented M5 soon later this year.

The car relies on an amazingly powerful in-plug hybrid propulsion system consisting of an internal combustion engine and an electric engine with a total power of 535 kilowatts, reaching 717 hp, while the maximum torque reaches 1,000 Newton metres.

This change represents a major shift from traditional gasoline-based power to a hybrid system that combines efficiency and high performance.

The BMW M5 features a 577-horsepower 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, powered by a powerful 196-horsepower electric motor integrated within an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Thanks to this hybrid engine, the BMW M5 accelerates from zero to 100 km per hour in just 3.5 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 305 km per hour.

This amazing performance comes despite the significant weight increase, as the car weighs about 2,400 kg, which is partly due to the 18.6 kWh electric motor battery, which contributes to a weight increase of about 500 kg compared to the previous generation.
