The Maybach SL is not much different from the AMG SL 63, as it is equipped with a 4.0-turbo eight-cylinder engine that generates 577 horsepower and sends power to all four wheels. Rear-axle steering is standard, as is the company's widely used nine-speed automatic gearbox.

The biggest changes are noticeable on the outside, where the car is available in two different versions. Buyers can choose between Red Ambience or White Ambience in terms of colors, but regardless of the chosen option, you get a Maybach-specific illuminated grille up front and a three-pointed Mercedes star on the hood. There are rose gold accents in the headlights, a chrome-plated windshield frame, and the buyer’s choice between five-slotted Monoblock or multi-spoke 21-inch wheels.

The changes don’t stop there, as the black soft top is covered in a Maybach logo pattern. Buyers can optionally add this pattern to the car’s hood, where the panel is hand-sanded before the design is printed on the metal. Other changes include Maybach-specific taillights, a new chrome-trimmed rear fascia, and a new diffuser with Maybach-specific exhaust outlets.

The cabin is also well appointed, with Crystal White leather covering the doors, center console, and of course the seats and the space behind the seats where the rear seat is usually covered in leather. There is no information on whether the car can be equipped with rear seats as an option. Other changes to the interior include a stainless steel steering wheel, pedals and door sills.
